The event is designed to get as many people as possible pedalling on indoor cycling bikes, including RTL Group employees, politicians and sporting stars.
At the 8th edition, RTL Group has converted the 8.520 kilometres covered into euros, at the rate of EUR 5 per kilometre into a total donation of 42.600 euros generously rounded to 55.000 euros.
The Télévie charity campaign is organised by RTL TVi and RTL every year. Fundraising activities take place throughout Belgium and Luxembourg, promoted on television and radio. In Luxembourg, the action culminated in a final televised event, which was aired this year on Saturday 21 April 2012.
Since its creation in 1989, Télévie has raised EUR 108.529.932 in total. The full amount raised is passed on to the National Scientific Research Fund (FNRS).
